Artist name: Atandwa Naleli
Biography: Atandwa Naleli , a 22 year old Lesotho poetess with a decade full of experience into the poetry world. She is a lady born and bred and attended primary and high school in the heart of Lesotho, MASERU. She was raised by her grandmother and fell in love with poetry in Class 7 and further performed in High School, Sefika High School, this brought her an undying love for the stage after the now late Mr Sam Amekye, her English teacher put her in a competition when she was in grade 9. Atandwa the stage name popped up in Grade 11 where she found a great sync with her original name (Thato). She further performed even after high after obtaining some medals and then joined Writers Space Africa Lesotho, then Sothokids Culture Agency. Won her first major win in Youth Talent Search first season alongside names like Lizzy Lethibelane and Sibongile Tshosane. She already was equipped with stage performance skills from her performances alongside Thabo Marebole, Doty Thabiso, Felicity, Mahloli Makhetha e.t.c. Atandwa Naleli is an author too, she recently published her book in 2022 April and titled it "Me, Myself and Art", this is a compilation of her poems from 2017-2021 , inspired by her life and those around her. Atandwa as she likes being addressed, joined Sothokids with the great influence of her now passed friend "Khosatsana Ea Phokeng". She shared a stage with her a year before she died, she also contributed her poems to the local anthology called "Echoes of the Kingdom", this was her first book as she says. Naleli has been on various stages and appearances. Mosola Comedy , "Gay for Price" featured her poem, obtained top 6 in Basali Ba Matla by Lintle Ramatla, her book got featured on Pitso Rah Makhula's music video of the recent album. She performed a lot under Sothokids Culture Agency and on her own, gracing the stages with Bobby Strings and Teboho oa Seroki and Escar Ponto and of course alongside Omali Themba. She just opened her own page called Atandwa Naleli, she also has a content creative show called Art Lounge with Atandwa and hosted poetry shows called Voices and Verses just this year. She is the recipient of the "Best Poet of the Year Award" under Sothokids Culture Agency.
